POCtix charges a flat $2.00 per ticket — same fee on a $5 cover or a $250 VIP table. Eventbrite takes 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket and stacks a service fee on your buyer. Stop being skimmed.
Type your average ticket price and how many you sell a month. We do the math against Eventbrite's published fee schedule.
Eventbrite "Essentials" tier published rate: 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket, sourced eventbrite.com/organizer/pricing. "Professional" tier (8.7% + $1.79) and "Premium" (custom) are higher. POCtix is the same $2.00 regardless of ticket price or volume.
The honest version. Click around their pricing pages and check.

Fill the form below. We review same-day and approve real venues. If you're a Stripe-friendly business, you're in.
One-click Stripe Connect onboarding. If you don't have a Stripe account, it's free and takes 10 minutes at stripe.com.
Add an event, set ticket types + capacity. Share your venue URL (or embed on your site). Door scans QR on any phone.
If yours isn't here, email [email protected].
None. We make money on volume, not on screwing you. We built POCtix because we run our own venues and were tired of giving Eventbrite a percentage on every cover. Free events cost $0. Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ goes to Stripe — same as if you swiped the card yourself.
About 15 minutes for your first event once Stripe is connected. We don't auto-import your past events — you set up new ones from scratch. Honestly that's how long Eventbrite takes too; we just don't bury the buttons.
Yes — that's how money gets to you. Stripe is free to sign up (10 min at stripe.com). They take 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction whether you use POCtix or your own checkout. No way around card processing fees, but at least with us we're not adding our own percentage on top.
QR codes work as printouts too — same scan. Many of our customers screenshot the email and show the screenshot. The QR is embedded in the email body so it works without internet at the door.
You refund through Stripe like any other charge. When the refund posts, we automatically void the QR code so nobody can use a refunded ticket. The seat goes back into capacity so you can resell it.
Yes. From the admin dashboard you can issue a comp pass with the buyer's name — they scan the same as paid tickets, but they show up separately in your reporting (you'll see "comp: 12" alongside "paid: 187").
No. $2.00 per ticket is all we make. We don't touch the bar tab. We don't sell ads on your event page. We don't run a "discovery" marketplace where we cross-sell other venues to your customer.
You can run unlimited venues from one admin login. Each gets its own hosted calendar page and Stripe destination, but you see all sales in one dashboard. Useful for promoters running events at 3+ spots.
No. They get a regular email with the QR code — works offline at the door. iPhone users see an "Add to Apple Wallet" button in the email: one tap and the ticket lives on their lock screen with your event name, venue, date, and a scannable QR. Your event image shows as the ticket thumbnail. No app download, no account required at the door.
None. Stop using POCtix any time — you keep all your buyer data + Stripe history. We don't lock you in because we don't have to: we built it to be cheaper than what you're using.
You set capacity per ticket type. Once sold, the page shows "sold out" and rejects new orders. No oversell — we use database row locking on the qty_sold counter so even simultaneous purchases can't double-sell the last seat.
Yes. Admin dashboard shows every order with buyer name + email, total revenue, sold vs. capacity per ticket tier. CSV export for your guest list.
Honolulu-based independent operator. Same team runs PortOfCams (live surf cams), AlohaCalendar (Hawaii events), and LastFrontierEvents (Alaska events) — all on this same ticketing stack. We're customers of POCtix ourselves.
Money goes through Stripe directly to your account, so you report it the same as any other Stripe revenue. Stripe issues 1099-Ks if you cross the threshold. POCtix is just the ticketing layer — we're not in the payments chain for tax purposes.
We're new — under 100 venues so far. We don't have a native mobile app (web works on every phone but isn't the prettiest). We don't have a built-in marketing engine like Eventbrite's discovery feed (which is also why we don't tax you for it). If you want a thousand-venue network with all the features, we're not it yet. If you want to keep your money, we are.
Approval is same-day for real venues. First event takes 15 minutes once Stripe is connected.
