How Eventbrite's pricing actually works

Eventbrite has three published pricing tiers as of 2026, plus a custom enterprise tier. Most organizers default to "Essentials," which is the cheapest. Here's the honest breakdown:

TierPer-ticket feeMonthlyFeatures locked behind it
Essentials3.7% + $1.79$0Free events, basic event creation, no reserved seating, limited customization
Professional8.7% + $1.79$0Reserved seating, payment processing options, branded checkout
PremiumCustomCustomSales team contact, dedicated account manager, white-glove onboarding

The catch most organizers miss: the fees above are what Eventbrite takes from you. They also add a "service fee" to your buyer's checkout — typically $2-4 per ticket — that doesn't show in your dashboard. So when you list a $20 ticket, your buyer sees $24-26 at checkout. That suppresses conversion and trains customers to feel ripped off.

The hidden buyer service fee

Eventbrite's buyer service fee is itself a percentage of the ticket price plus a flat per-ticket charge. It's typically 2.5-2.9% + $0.99-1.79 depending on tier and region. Stack that on top of the 3.7% + $1.79 they take from you, and the effective cost on a $25 ticket is closer to $5.40 in total platform fees — most of which is invisible to you.

Why this matters

If your goal is "I want to charge $25 and have the buyer pay $25" — Eventbrite won't let you do that without absorbing both fees yourself, which puts your effective platform fee at ~$5.40 on a $25 ticket.

POCtix charges $2.00 flat. By default, that comes out of the ticket price (so a $25 ticket = $25 to the buyer, $22.47 to you after Stripe). You can opt to pass the $2.00 to the buyer, but it's your choice.

What about Stripe fees?

Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction on both POCtix and Eventbrite — that's Stripe's payment processing fee, separate from either platform's fee. It's the same regardless of which platform you use, so we exclude it from the comparison above (it cancels out).

What this calculator doesn't account for

Stop paying percentages.

POCtix is $2.00 flat per ticket. Money goes straight to your Stripe. No buyer service fee unless you want one.

Honest pricing. A flat $2.00 per ticket — that's all POCtix takes, whether the ticket is $5 or $500. You pay the same standard card processing (2.9% + $0.30) you'd pay on any platform, and the money lands straight in your own Stripe account. No percentage cut, no buyer-facing service fee — so on a typical event ticket your all-in cost lands well below Eventbrite, and the savings grow the higher your ticket price.
